Have students pair up and touch the body parts together that you name (Example: "Head to Head"). Submitted by: Melissa MB Wilkins

Have students draw monsters with odd numbers of body parts and describe them orally and/or in writing (Example: "My monster has 3 legs.") It's especially great for creative and artistic children to get to express themselves. Submitted by: Melissa MB Wilkins

Ask students to draw the monster you describe, then give statements about your monster like, "My monster has two heads." It's interesting to see how different they can look. I have used this as an informal assessment, as well, to check comprehension. Submitted by: Melissa MB Wilkins |
